Official Rules and Regulations
OWHA Sanction# 1920080
 
  1. This tournament is run under the sanction of the OWHA. All hockey Canada and OWHA shall apply.
  2. All teams from outside of province require a travel permit, certified roster and medical insurance. Travel permits must be provided to the registration table. OWHA teams must provide approved roster.
  3. All players participating in the tournament must properly be registered through the OWHA (or their appropriate provincial governing body affiliated with IIHF) to play on the team which they are listed or qualified to play by a proper OWHA “Pickup Consent” form or IIHF equivalent.
  4. All  players and coaching staff must sign game sheets before every game. Teams are responsible for providing their own OWHA watermarked game sheet labels. Quebec teams must have printed labels.
  5. A player may only participate with one designated team in a tournament and may only participate in one tournament on any date. 
  6. A maximum of 18 skaters and 2 goalies may be registered with each team.
  7. All teams MUST be ready to play 20 minutes before their scheduled start.
  8. All games consist of 3 periods (10 minute-10minute-12minute), stop time.
  9. 2 minute warm ups before every game will be allowed. Once the Zamboni door closes and the buzzer sounds the warm up begins.
  10. If the goal spread at any time of the third period reaches 5 goals, the clock will run until the score is less than 5
  11. The OWHA minimum suspensions guidelines will be strictly enforced. All suspensions will be enforced according to OWHA constitution, Bylaws and Regulations and Rules.
  12. All players will shake hands after each game. The handshake may be waived at the discretion of the officials or tournament convenor.
  13. Teams will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss in all round robin games.
  14. Standings after the round robin will be calculated on the basis of the point awarded as per rule #13. In the event of a tie between teams at the end of the round robin play, the following criteria will be used to break the tie in the following priority order:
  1. Number of wins
  2. Fewest goals against
  3. Most goals for
  4. Fewest penalty minutes
  5. Coin toss
  1. One (1) 30 second timeout will be allowed for each team, in each elimination game. There are no timeouts in round robin games.
  2. In the event of a tie at the end of regulation during elimination games a 5 minute sudden death overtime will commence. Teams will play 4 on 4 plus goalies. Players may be changed at any time and goalies may be pulled at any time and a substitute player from the bench may be used. If there is a penalty at the end of regulation it will carry over into OT, so will be 4 on 3 until the penalty runs out. If still tied at the end of 5 minute OT a SHOOT OUT will occur
  3. Shoot outs/Overtime. Teams DO NOT change ends. Each team must used their designated S1, S2, S3 players to begin. Any player serving a penalty at the end of OT will not be allowed to participate in shoot outs. Only goalies and players shooting are allowed on the ice. Shooters will shoot simultaneously, starting at center ice. All 3 designated shooters from each team will shoot. If still tied, each team will designate one shooter at a time until there is a winner. A player may not shoot for a second time until all players on the gam sheet have shot.
  4. Home teams will wear light colored jerseys. If there is a dispute the tournament committee will have final say.
  5. Teams are to be out of the dressing rooms 20 minutes after game time. Teams must advise tournament committee if there are any problems with dressing rooms.
  6. PARENTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN DRESSING ROOMS OR UNDER THE STANDS. PLAYERS AND COACHING STAFF ONLY
  7. The consumption of alcohol in dressing rooms is strictly prohibited in all arenas.
  8. The GGHA strongly supports the Zero Tolerance Policy against abuse of OWHA officials. Any player, team member, team official, or spectator may be asked to leave the playing area or arena premises by a tournament committee member or OWHA official.
  9. Flooding of the ice will occur at the end of each game and may be deferred at the Tournament committee’s discretion.
  10. The decisions of the Tournament Officials are final

Semi Finals will have 1st ranked vs 4th ranked & 2 ranked vs 3rd ranked
The winners of each of those games will face off in the final
Bantam & Midget
